This week at The Rocchinos'

Sorry for the late post but this is a very busy week! We have the Sunday Streets festival coming up this weekend where we will not only have an awesome Sandwich for sale at the shop, but we are also going to be grilling our Classic Fennel Sausages and serving them on toasted ACME buns with pickled onions and optional mustard in the Beer and Wine Garden on Vine Street! I am also attending a Bachelorette Party for my dear friend Sophia this weekend at Pizzaiolo and hosting a Baby "Mist" luncheon for my friend Ryley who is expecting her second child. Whew! Even with all of that going on, we still have to eat dinner, right? So without further ado, here's what we're eating this week:

Monday: Roasted Green Chili and Lime Quail from Donna Hay's book The New Cook. I know this was on the menu for last week, but we got a last minute invite to join friends at Champa Garden for a Laotian and Vietnamese feast! Have you been here? It was delicious and a great value! We ate and ate and ate and ate and each spent $17.00. Anyway, we ended up making the quail this Monday night and served them with fried sweet potato chips and fried shishito peppers. Delish!

Tuesday: Macaroni with Fontina and Narsai's Mustard from Nigel Slater's book A Kitchen Diary: with a Watercress, Pear and Fennel Salad  Yep, we were supposed to have this one last week too on our Anniversary "Stay-cation", but we got so into the vacation part of our "stay-cation" that neither of us wanted to cook and we ate popcorn for dinner. But when I made this last night, it was great!

Wednesday: Spicy Eggplant with Pork from Sunset Magazine's September 2012 issue: http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/spicy-eggplant-pork-50400000123014/

Thursday: Skirt Steak and Veggie Salad with Chipotle Chimichurri Dressing also from the September Issue of Sunset Magazine: http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/grilled-steak-vegetable-salad-50400000123005/

Friday: Bay and Chervil Fried Fish Steaks made with SirenSea Mystery Fish (guessing it will be some sort of rockfish)modified from a recipe for Salmon in Donna Hay's The New Cook

Saturday: Above mentioned Bachorlorette Party - Aaron will probably eat a Sandwich of the Day for Dinner.

Sunday: We will be teaching a Poultry Class, so we will most likely grab a burrito on the way home... Have a delicious week!
