How does a Butcher Basket subscription work?

Using our online system you will sign-up, select your Butcher Basket and set-up payment. Butcher Baskets will be available for pick-up over a 2-day period each month. You will select a Sunday/Monday pick up or Monday/Tuesday pick up. A schedule of upcoming pick-up dates is posted on our website and you will receive a reminder email 48 hours in advance of your pick-up date. The sign-up for the current monthly period will close one week in advance of the upcoming pick-up. All Butcher Basket subscriptions are ongoing with automatic monthly billing, however you can contact us to cancel at anytime.

How do I get my Butcher Basket?

At your first pick-up you will receive an insulated basket and ice pack. We ask that you bring this basket with you each month when you pick-up your share. Butcher Baskets will be available for pick-up at TLBS during regular business hours on Sunday/Monday or Monday/Tuesday, depending on your selection, on designated pick-up weeks. Your monthly share of meat will be frozen and packaged for your freezer.

What if I get a cut I’m unfamiliar with?

A designated butcher will be available on pick-up days to go over your Butcher Basket with you, answer questions about unfamiliar cuts and give you any cooking tips you may need. Recipe collections will also be posted on our Pinterest Boards.

What if I prefer not to get a type of meat?

All baskets include beef, however we offer basket options that allow you to exempt either pork or lamb from your share.

Is there a cost benefit to the Butcher Basket Program?

Members have the opportunity to purchase meat at a single price per pound based on the value of whole animals. The average cost is lower than the individual price per pound of many of the cuts available at the The Local Butcher Shop counter. Butcher Basket Program members also receive a 10% discount on purchases when they shop in the store on pick-up days.

What if I am going on vacation and don’t want my Butcher Basket one month?

If you are going on vacation, or need to skip a month, you may place your account on vacation hold by logging into your account. You must do this at least 1 week in advance of the next pick-up. Your account will not be charged while your delivery is on hold.

What if I miss a Butcher Basket pick-up?

If you fail to pick-up your Butcher Basket, we cannot hold it for you. The Butcher Basket program assumes a commitment on the part of its members and monthly packages are non-refundable. We recommend you ask a friend or family member pick-up on your behalf and Butcher Baskets make great gifts.

What else do I need to know?

Signing Up

We use a web-based software program called Farmigo to help manage The Butcher Basket Program. When you sign up, a secure, online member profile is created for you with your share options and your account activity. You can view and edit your account, credit card info, or password and even place a vacation or suspension hold just by signing in to your account.

Payments

We accept payments via credit card or electronic check. We do not store any of your personal or financial information on our website. Our order site is run by Farmigo and your information is stored securely by Authorize.net. Your account will be automatically charged monthly and you will receive an email prior to the charge being made.

Communications

We will communicate with you via email to inform you of a payment or to remind you of a scheduled pick up. By becoming a member of our Butcher Basket Program, you are agreeing to open and read all email communications from us.

Cancellation

To cancel your Butcher Basket subscription, please email us at info@thelocalbutchershop.com. You must cancel your subscription at least 7 days in advance of the upcoming pick-up if you do not want to be charged for that month’s basket.
